Learn how to play Profundum: the Mass and the Anchor, Bass Morph between two endpoints, the Mass control and the four personality macros, every Advanced section, Motion, and the factory presets.
User Manual → Signal Flow Diagram → Manual source (MANUAL.md) →Profundum is a mass bass instrument. Instead of stacking layers it plays one bass voice and lets you choose how heavy that voice is: a pure sub, a resonant body, a harmonic growl or a driven, folded bite. Wherever the sound goes, the low end stays centred.
Every voice has two parts. The Mass is the harmonic body of the note — its depth, body and edge, its fold, its character and its weight. The Anchor is a separate sub tone underneath it, identical in both channels, that holds the fundamental in place however hard the Mass is driven, folded or widened.
Every sound parameter holds two values, endpoint A and endpoint B. Bass Morph moves the sound from one to the other, so a single control can carry a clean sub into a distorted growl along a path designed at both ends. The Mass control and four personality macros — Weight, Dark/Bright, Tight/Loose and Clean/Violent — steer the sound on top, and Motion moves it over time.
process() allocates nothing, takes no locks, throws nothing, and does no I/O58 factory presets ship with the plugin in six categories, five of them stored in POLY for chords. Each one is built around one capability of the instrument and names it in its comment, and each is verified by a render to make that capability audible and to keep its low end intact in a mono sum.
